Words that Sound the Same, but Are Different

“Yeah, sure, I’d love a lite beer… no, maybe a lite soda… I have to be somewhere later, and the smell of beer on my breath…”

“Oh! May I turn on the light?”

What’s the difference between:

Almost everyone that knows English knows what light means, but in context, many people don’t know the actual difference.
