… and You Thought This Word Only Meant…?

Let’s increase your English vocabulary…

What is this?

… for the upper body and all over, if desired.

Have you figured it out yet?

If not, here’s another hint;

No “e” included

Enough hints;

Got it yet?

There is mail, then there is mail! 😶

The oldest of the two is, or was something used in ancient wars, when fighting was typically face-to-face. So mail was used because it was much harder to penetrate with swords or arrows, the typical weapons of war then.

How and why sending something to someone used the same name – mail – I don’t know.

Now days, we denote mail as being;

Snail-mail = things sent through the postal system;

E-mail = if you’re reading this, I’m sure I don’t need to explain, but it means, electronic mail, or information sent via a computer.

The oldest version will typically be seen in movies about ancient times; if you visit a museum that exhibits these facts; or in some cases, someone mentions “a coat of mail”, typically referencing extra protection.
