Same Words, Different Meanings

Here are a couple videos which should cause you to at least smile, but if nothing else, help you to understand a bit of the complexity in using and understanding English.

By the way, AI, although is good (not great) as a help meet, more than likely will not help you to use and/or understand the following:

The use of “ass” in English;

What would this be like without something from George Carlin?

This video is a reason why I like to speak directly and teach the same.

One quick reference:

EXAMPLE: I’m shortening this story a lot here:

Back in 1993, one Saturday I was having dinner with a few others, at a friends home when the person on my right asked me if I could pass the soda. Using “soft” language, that may have been correct, but literally, the question was asking if I had the ability to do so…

REMEMBER: When you’re learning English, or any other language, learn from a human, especially from a native of that language. You will learn things that are not in a textbook, including slang words and expressions, including the unspoken, commonly called, “implications”.

Here’s an important request which will be very helpful for you:

Subscribe to this page. I have and use this and another website, but this one is my favorite, and I usually post the other site here as well.

Please read the website. Included in this site is probably most of the information you want to know – literally!

Here are a few ways to contact me, but since I’m usually “busy”, email me with the day, time and on what app you want to talk on, and if I’m “free”, that time will be yours!
