Wound or Wound? Which is it? Refuse or Refuse? Also, Which One? & More!

We’re back to words spelled the same, pronounced differently and that have different meanings!

I like audio books!

Why?

The stories are very nice and my mind creates the scenery.

However, the stories are told via AI, which pronounces certain words incorrectly, such as the ones in the title. If you don’t know the words, you may make an incorrect assumption.

Let me give you a brief example;

“As he wound down, his cable caught something in the refuse.”

Got it?

If you do, 👌🏼

If you’re like many, especially those studying English, here are the definitions. Be sure to read everything in the definitions, and don’t forget you can have to words pronounced with the “speaker button”;

Merriam-Webster’s definition of “wound”: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/wound

Merriam-Webster’s definition of “refuse”: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/refuse

Now, for one word we often hear, but may not know that it has a few meanings. Consort.

Definition of consort is a husband or wife; spouse, especially of a reigning monarch. Learn more at: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/consort

Okay, all seriousness aside, have a laugh!
